When you see an osteopath.
During your first appointment with an osteopath, we’ll start by taking a detailed case history, followed by an examination. From there, we’ll create a diagnosis and treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals. In most cases, we’ll provide hands-on treatment during the session, or refer you if necessary. Treatment techniques
Osteopaths are manual therapists and use a variety of hands on techniques as our primary tool for treating aches and pains. Osteopathic treatment uses techniques such as stretching and massage for general treatment of the soft tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments) along with mobilisation of specific joints and soft tissues. The types of techniques we may employ are:
- Dry needling
- Ultrasound
- Taping
- Craniosacral Osteopathy
- Biodynamic Osteopathy
- HVLA / articulation
- Soft tissue
- Muscle Energy Technique (MET)
- Balanced ligamentous tension (BLT) / Counterstrain
- Rehabilitation
